I drive a 2004 Acura TL 6MT. Stock sidewalls are 45, I bought the 50. I know I lose a bit or torque but I gain a bit of ride comfort. It was worth it. So I bought these and had them installed in February 2018. It's now Dec 2021. I swear I can drive it 2-3 more months but it's about to get wet so I'm getting them changed for safety reasons. I'm a spirited commuting type. These tires can definitely last ~40k miles and 4 years. That's impressive for 500 treadwear and a spirited driver. Road nose is very quiet for the first 8-10k miles. I start noticing the increase in noise after that but it's very subtle and to be expected with most tires. 30k miles is when it's starting to get loud which is definitely expected because you're alot closer to the ply. This is all normal behaviour. Since we're about to talk about how it does in the wet, I should disclose where I drive primarily. I'm a resident of the South SF Bay Area, CA. You can google how our weather is like all year round. These tires cut through water very well. I have not ever hydroplaned or slightly hydroplaned in the wet. I tend to be civilized when I drive in the wet and I definitely obey the speed limit or go slightly below it here where I live. I can actually feel the water evacuating nicely in the wet because I have amazing traction since it drives like it's dry. When I'm on the freeway driving over unexpected puddles, it just evacuates water quickly where I don't feel any hydroplaning. I've driven this in light snow before. It grips just fine if you drive in a civilized manner. I've driven this on loose gravel before. Again, grips it just fine. The sipes help big time and there's another tread pattern feature they have in the middle that helps grip loose gravel as well. I'm a believer in them now. So yes, they are good bang for buck. It did everything I wanted. I should also mention that I do my own tire rotation every month of May. And when I rotate my tires, I spray wheel cleaners and it turns pink to remove iron and I pressure wash it off. Before putting it back on, I apply tireshine on both sides of the walls to help keep it conditioned and supple. Because I do this, I definitely avoid any dryness or cracking of the tires. I'm mentioning this because I take care of my stuff properly and it can affect how things perform. So I optimise everything. On my door sil, it says to keep the tire pressure at 32psi. I check tire pressure every 2 weeks. It holds well at 35psi. I know I should do it at 32, but with my gauge, it's easier to read the needle at 35. lol. Sumitomo and Falken are the same company. I swear the Falken ZE950 are the same with a slight change on their tread pattern. But if you look at it side by side, you'll see it's not that much different and that it'll perform identically the same. Two reasons why I'm not buying these again: 1.) The big one: They're discontinued. They're great bang for buck. 2.) I've been curious about the Michellin Defender T+H for the longest time and that's what I will have installed tomorrow morning. I want a higher treadwear rating. I want it to last even longer. I want longer time with silent road noise. So I want the Treadwear rating of 800+ and this is the highest on the market at 820. We'll see how they perform. It has alot more sipes so the road noise should be even lower and will grip light snow and loose fine gravel nicely. Looking forward to writing the review for it 5+ years from now.

One of 4 tires turned out to be "marginal" at balancing, which caused the vibration at 50+ m/h. Will need to replace it. In overall the tires are fine so far. Nothing special. Will check them in Winter on snow.

These are good tires for the price for performance and traction. However, they carry a 60K treadlife warranty so you would expect them to last near that mileage mark or at least within reason. My tire wore down to 1 to 2 32nd's on all 4 tires just before 30K. Rotated regularly with 3000 interal oil change and checked alignment often. Also computer spin balanced tires often to insure they were tracking properly. Tires (225/55R18) were on a 2017 Infiniti QX50. Normal driving but mostly highway travel. Treadwear is underperforming, to say the least, for a $400+ set of tires. Will be filing a treadlife warranty reimbursement request for sure.

Bought these tires to go on my 07 Benz. The road noise is minimal, the ride is outstanding. Will get a set for the front when they wear out.
