  • Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II

Based in Milan, Italy, Pirelli has over 150 years of experience in the tire industry and is the fifth-largest tire manufacturer in the world. Pirelli builds great tires for every application and commonly uses their findings from racing and a 2,000+ person research and development team to craft best-in-class consumer tires. Designed for use on luxury and sports sedans and SUVs, the Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II is Pirelli's enhanced all-season tire that’s developed for drivers of CUVs, SUVs, and pickup trucks. The new tread compound and optimized footprint with further enhanced wet braking and handling improve the performance on ice and snow while maintaining the mileage and comfort in winter performance of previous generations.

Available in 16 to 22-inch sizes, this tire is covered by the manufacturer's limited tread life warranty of 65,000 miles, and the extra peace of mind of Pirelli's Confidence Plus Plan, which includes the limited tread life warranty and a 30-Day Trial Offer. But is this the right tire for your budget and ride? Let’s take a deeper look in this Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II review.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are designed to offer riders excellent traction year-round, which means they’re built for use in hot, wet, and cold weather conditions. They are also reliable in light snow conditions and are primarily driven on paved roads. As an all-season tire, the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II is equipped with an optimized tread pattern, which paired with Pirelli’s PNCS technology ensures a quiet and smooth ride for the drivers.

Moreover, the tire offers a higher reduction in rolling resistance than its competitors for enhanced fuel economy. Let’s take a look at the detailed view of the features and benefits of the tire:

    • Fuel Efficient Tire: The tire delivers a lower rolling resistance that aids in achieving improved fuel consumption and decreased environmental impact.
    • Enhanced Performance: A silica functionalized polymer with higher silica content aims at improving wet performance and fuel consumption.
    • Optimized Footprint: The new rubber compound is designed to promote the better adjustment of the contact patch to the road surfaces, which allows for an easier transfer of braking and steering maneuvers to the ground, especially in wet and humid conditions.
    • Excellent Control: Four longitudinal grooves and high lateral siping density makes sure of efficient water expulsion and greater lateral stability.
    • Increased Handling Performance: Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II tires are developed by utilizing the latest technological innovations that deliver exceptional performance and handling in a wide range of weather conditions including wet, dry, and light snow.
    • Reduced Noise: These tires are engineered with optimized pitch sequence and phasing that helps in making a decreased external and cabin noise.

    Pros and Cons

Before moving ahead with the decision to buy Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II, let’s first discuss a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • The tire offers superior handling using its new tread pattern with reinforced shoulder
    • Peace of mind as it comes with the manufacturer warranty of up to 65,000 miles
    • Quiet and comfortable driving experience
    • A specialized silica compound for enhanced dry performance, stability, and a longer tread life

While Pirelli makes a good claim about Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • Slightly more expensive than some competitor’s tires
    • Not ideal for use in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
    • Only available for SUVs, CUVs, and light trucks

Still plenty of tread after 3 years, including a couple of cross-country drives.

I've had these tires for about two months and they look pleasant and are quiet which was important. They felt a little spongy at first, but I adjusted the air pressure for the ride I wanted. I would recommend these tires to my friends

Don not recommend this website. Tire was a week later than originally stated for delivery. Customer service had no idea where the tire was and was only able to contact through virtual chat. Shaquille was completely unhelpful. Will not be using this website again.

I changed to the run-flat Scorpion Verde tires after 3 years of using the other non-run-flat tires in my Subaru car. I also filled them with the nitrogen gas and noticed that the ride is now smother and with a better traction than before (and I don't believe is due to the N gas.) I would recommend the use of these tires wholeheartedly.
