Features and Benefits
The Mastercraft Stratus A/S is an all-season tire and it is optimized to perform in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. To ensure that it offers reliable year-round performance, Mastercraft has incorporated an array of advanced features and technologies. Let’s take a look at them and learn how they impact the performance.
- Enhanced year-round traction – The features advanced all-season tread design and tread compound that provide all-season traction in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions
- Impressive handling – The tire utilizes Shoulder Sipe Technology, which uses sipes in the shoulders and intermediate tread rows along with deep sections to provide biting edges for better handling throughout the life of the tire. Additionally, the solid center rib present on the tread assures smooth rides and controlled handling.
- Better high-speed stability and grip – The construction of the tire utilizes spiral nylon overlap that controls the growth at the center of the tire at higher speeds and maintains dimensional stability. This helps in improving the grip as the tire maintains solid grip with the surface.
- Reduced tread noise levels – The computer-designed variable pitch tread reduces the tread noise levels by utilizing different sized tread elements. These elements facilitate quiet running at highway speeds and enhance the driving comfort.
- Increased wet weather performance – The four wide grooves present on the tread of the Stratus A/S improve water dispersion and reduce the chances of aquaplaning for increased wet weather performance. These grooves and sipes ease cruising through thin layers of water that are present on the road during the rainy season.
- Longer service life – The advanced tread pattern of the tire is optimized to distribute the driving pressures across the tread to reduce the chances of uneven tread wear and offer an extended service life.
- Covered by tread life warranty – The Stratus A/S is covered by a limited manufacturer tread life warranty of 50,000 miles, which gives the drivers an absolute peace of mind.
The tire is available in 14- to 18-inch rims and some of its available sizes include:

Got these for an 08 Buick Lacrosse and they worked well for a passenger car. Dry performance great, and decent in the rain when new. Very quiet. Tread is kinda shallow and wears quickly. Rain performance degraded as that happened. Starting to hydroplane a bit at 40k miles. These are warranted for 50k but I think that might be asking a bit much of this tire. They're not bad for the price, but I'm going to something with a better weather rating and deeper tread for Florida.
This tire is OK with gripping when it's dry and sunny out. But once the rain comes out or there's even a fleck of snow things start to change. Constantly slip in winter and rain and they provide zero stability when conditions aren't perfect.
I live in Portland, OR. These tires are some of the worst tires I have ever owned. Spinning out consistently in wet conditions, even if I am easy on the gas pedal. Borderline dangerous... Threw away after one season. They might be a good tire for dry climates, but I'd stay away from them if you live anywhere where rain is part of your daily driving.
The cost was on point as well. I purchased the warranty and Simple tire came through in that way as well when one of them was damaged by a road hazard. They stand behind the product, sell a great product and keep it simple. This is my third set of tires through this company and we are sticking with them.
I received these tires in November of 2019. Due to the pandemic, did not put on as many miles as I normally would. After 23,000 miles, my dealer was warning me to consider replacing them. I'm about 26,000 miles now and these are really too dangerous to use during heavy rain. Tread wear has been very disappointing. Admittedly, I have not rotated as I should (I've rotated 2-3 times since purchase), but no matter. All 4 require replacing. Will not buy again.
I've bought 3-4 sets of tires in the past with no issue. However, they have cancelled my last 2 orders and refuse to respond to my emails. Simple tire apparently made mistakes and listed several tires the wrong price. Instead of admit they screwed up, they'd rather just cancel orders and ghost customers.
Tires ride nice and priced great
After putting on 20k miles, the tread is at 20%. Not happy with the wear on these. Overall an ok tire in North Dakota.
I haven't mounted and trued them yet. I had a very uncomfortable experience after ordering and would appreciate a phone call from a representative. 814-336-3228 thank you
