  • Goodyear Eagle Touring

Goodyear tire is a name that’s known to all. As one of the largest tire manufacturers in the world, the brand produces various types of tires ranging from all-season, all-terrain, and mud-terrain tires for passenger cars, performance vehicles, light trucks, SUVs, and CUVs.

The Eagle Touring is an all-season tire designed for use on sedans, CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks, and offers drivers confident handling plus a smooth, quiet ride, and increased year-round traction, even in light snow. But is the Eagle Touring the right tire for you? Let’s take a look at this Goodyear Eagle Touring tire review.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires perform exceptionally well in areas that receive moderate temperatures year-round. Fortunately, the Goodyear Eagle Touring performs well in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions while maintaining a firm grip on the road. Additionally, all-season tires typically offer better-rolling resistance for enhanced fuel economy. Let’s take a look at the Goodyear Eagle Touring tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • All-season performance: Biting edges help to provide confident all-season traction in wet, dry, and snowy conditions.
    • Reduced Hydroplaning: The advanced open shoulder slots on Eagle Touring make sure to reduce the chance of hydroplaning even when tires are worn. Plus, the full-depth main grooves in the tread provide consistent water evacuation.
    • Enhanced traction: Full-depth features help maintain balance on slippery roads providing traction.
    • Optimized steering response: Eagle Touring offers an optimized tire contact area with the road for enhanced handling and responsiveness.
    • Reduced noise: The innovative tread pattern helps deliver a quiet and comfortable ride for its passengers and drivers.

The wheel size ranges from 18-inch to 22-inch which makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of vehicles on roads today, including compact cars, mid-size sedans, performance sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers.

    Pros and Cons

    Goodyear Eagle Touring

The Eagle Touring indeed is a great tire that offers drivers excellent traction and handling performance year-round. But is this really what your vehicle needs? Before deciding to buy the Goodyear Eagle Touring or not, let’s first drill down on a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • Great steering responsiveness
    • All-season performance
    • Comfortable Ride
    • Open shoulder slots and full-depth main grooves provide consistent water evacuation for better wet grip
    • Symmetric pattern and inboard design provided great handling and a quiet ride

While Goodyear makes a good claim about Eagle Touring’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • The ride is firmer than its closest premium competitors
    • Tread noise is a slight issue on rough pavement
    • Not ideal for use on icy surfaces
    • Only available for passenger vehicles

My new Mazda CX-50 came with 20" rims and these tires in a 245-45 R20. The out lug sipes are so small that this tire has no business being labeled an all season with some snow capability. The only thing I can think of is that Mazda had a specific version for them. It's a 3 season tire.

The tires perform flawlessly in wet & dry conditions. I haven't driven in freezing and snowy conditions yet. I am waiting on the winter season to really put them to the test. But as of now, the tires are good to drive on.

This is the OEM tire fitted on my 23 accord and they suck. Medicare traction, loud road noise and poor construction. The sidewall gaveout hitting a pothole at 35mph (I always make sure the tires are inflated to manufacture spec and the car was empty except for just 2 150lb people in the car). Replaced with a whole set of driveguard plus RFT and they are much quieter, more traction and even better mpg being run flats. I do not understand how goodyear managed to make these suck in every aspect and their only customer should be manufactures trying to get name brand OEM tires for cheap.
