There’s a good reason why the number of light trucks, SUVs and crossovers on the roads is continuing to grow. Trucks and SUVs are practical, comfortable and rugged, and they need tires that are designed for their weight, power, center of gravity, braking and handling properties. Like with automotive tires for sedans and minivans, all-season SUV tires make the most sense for most drivers thanks to their year-round versatility and traction, ride quality that’s compliant and comfortable, low noise, long wear and capable handling.
That brings us to the BlackHawk Agility SUV. It’s an affordable all-season tire that’s engineered for SUVs and crossovers, and a tire you can depend on to check all the boxes mentioned above. But don’t just take our word for it; we’re going to go in for a closer look with the BlackHawk Agility SUV review:
Features and Benefits
Here are some of the great innovations and features that make the BlackHawk Agility SUV a valuable performer for your SUV or crossover:
- Contact patch is optimized to put more rubber in contact with the road for enhanced braking, handling, traction and wear properties
- Advanced tread compound is designed for long wear and excellent traction on wet or dry roads
- All-season tread features a pattern of circumferential and angled grooves to quickly evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch and resist hydroplaning
- 60,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty
- Network of interlocking sipes multiplies the tire’s surface area and traction with hundreds of extra biting edges to slice through snow, slush, standing water
- Tread pitch randomized and computer-tuned noise cancellation frequencies and resonances to keep road noise low
- Rubber cushion layer in the tire’s internal construction helps isolate vibrations and roughness for a refined ride
- Solid, reinforced shoulder blocks enhance cornering ability by resisting inertia and momentum of hard maneuvers
- Wide range of sizes for various fitments
- Internal construction includes polyester casing with twin steel belt package and nylon reinforcement layer for durability and stability
- Solid center rib with angled grooves for excellent straight-line stability, road manners, steering response
Pros and Cons

SimpleTire’s view on BlackHawk Agility SUV tires
Are you familiar with SimpleTire’s SimpleScore system? It’s the ratings system that the SimpleTire team devised to assign a numerical score for the categories of traction, handling and longevity for any given tire, as well as an overall average SimpleScore. We look at specs, reviews and other data points and then arrive at a rating between 1 and 10. For the BlackHawk Agility SUV, the SimpleScores are:
Traction: 7.9 Handling: 8.3 Longevity: 9.1 Overall average SimpleScore: 8.3
For a tire whose starting price is $82.96 per tire, those are obviously some pretty outstanding scores. The BlackHawk Agility SUV delivers features and performance that you’d expect from a premium brand tire that costs far more, starting out with its 60,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty.
We’re impressed with the ride quality of the BlackHawk Agility SUV – it’s supple and composed even on rough and uneven pavement, with little in the way of vibration and roughness being transmitted to the passengers. Road noise is muted, although the BlackHawk Agility SUV can be a little louder on certain pavement surfaces. Straight-line road manners are stable and steady, with a steering response that’s quick and accurate, thanks to its solid center rib. Cornering is neutral and predictable right up to the limits of your vehicle’s handling, with little tendency towards oversteer or understeer.
Traction on wet roads is confident and reliable, with short braking distances and little tendency towards hydroplaning even at higher speeds. Granted, this is a tire that doesn’t really perform well in heavier snow, but to be honest, that’s not the strong point of most all-season tires. With 49 sizes ranging from 16” to 21” rims, the BlackHawk Agility SUV is a great candidate for a wide range of fitments. Our overall take is that the BlackHawk Agility SUV is a tire that punches far above its weight class and compares well to far more expensive premium-brand tires when it comes to value and performance. This is a highly appealing tire if you’re driving an older vehicle and don’t want to empty out your bank account while purchasing new tires.

They have vibration even tho they have been balanced twice cause I thought it was something else
The tires were professionally installed and there is a slow leak. The tires were either not installed properly or there is an issue with the tire itself.
Very happy with these tires so far. I've only had them for 500 miles but they are extremely quiet and make my truck ride very nice. No issues with handling or balancing during install.
Just purchased 4 Blackhawk Agility SUV tires for my wife's Hyundai Sante Fe Sport 2.0T. I couldn't be more pleased. Knew nothing about this brand or tire, but the local tire shop pitched them to me as being a step up from the economy brand they had. I did a quick review and read a mixed review, but lots of positives, so I thought I'd give them a chance. So glad I did. I'm not one to spend time writing reviews on tires of all things, but I honestly never felt a difference in our cars rides after having new tires installed,...until now! All I can say is that both my wife and I noticed the difference in the ride. It feels like we're driving a new car. Quiet and smooth ! Not sure how the tread will wear, or how they will be in snow, but drove it on heavy rain, as well as normal conditions, and very satisfied. I will buy again for other vehicles as needed.
I've had these tires for a month now on an SUV, and they are very satisfactory. No noise, comfortable ride, good handling. They seem as good as the popular brands, but much less expensive. Time will tell on the tread life.
We bought these tires coming off OEM Bridgestones with her Honda Pilot. Our biggest concerns were road noise and comfort since there were no reviews on these tires. We have had them for a little over a month and they have not disappointed. They are smooth, quiet, and handle very well in rain and snow. Would highly recommend. Plan on getting them for the CRV next fall as well.
