  • Since the mid-1930s, Atlas Tires has been catering to American vehicle owners by offering a wide variety of passenger, light truck, and commercial truck tires.

The Atlas Force HP is an all-season high-performance tire that’s designed for use on passenger cars, CUVs, and SUVs. It is engineered to offer enhanced traction and improved handling in dry and wet conditions.

In this Atlas Force HP review, we will go over the features and benefits, pros and cons, vehicle compatibility, and other crucial details to help you make a well-informed purchase decision.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are engineered to offer traction and performance in dry, wet, and light wintry conditions and the Atlas Force HP is designed and engineered to do the same. Atlas has also focused on making this tire somewhat better in terms of performance by incorporating certain technologies that are found in typical high-performance tires.

    • Dependable year-round traction and grip – The tire features an asymmetric tread pattern optimized to provide traction and grip in dry, wet, and light wintry conditions. The four tread grooves of the tire drain water from the footprint and ensure improved wet-weather traction. The detailed sipes on the tread blocks improve grip in wet and light winter weather conditions, whereas the solid central pattern block of the tire helps enhance traction performance.
    • Improved steering response and handling – The high-angle shoulder grooves of the tire improve steering response and handling performance. The asymmetric tread design featuring solid center ribs and robust construction ensures improved steering response.
    • Reduced tread noise levels – Thanks to the multiple variable pitch design, the Atlas Force HP remarkably reduces the tread noise levels alongside enhancing the handling performance. The tread pitch sequencing doesn’t let airwaves gather inside the tire and generate noise, thus offering quieter rides. Even the compound of the tire helps absorb road noises very well to provide pleasing, noise-free, and comfy rides.
    • Enhanced braking performance – The central block pattern of the tire features solid ribs that provide adequate strength to the tire and improve braking performance.
    • Longer treadwear – The silica compound and the asymmetric tread pattern of the Force HP reduce the tread wear rate and distribute the driving pressures across the tread for longer and even wear.
    • Backed by tread life warranty – The Atlas Force HP is covered by a 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty that assures absolute peace of mind to the buyers.

Atlas offers the Force HP in 14- to 20-inch rims and some of its popular sizes include:

    Pros and Cons

Having covered the notable features of the Atlas Force HP, let’s now go over the pros and cons of the tire.

    PROS:

    • A budget-friendly tire with reliable year-round traction and grip.
    • Longer tread life than many other budget-friendly all-season tires.
    • Better handling and steering performance than most competitors.
    • Covered by 50,000 miles limited manufacturer tread life warranty.
    • Offers more quieter and comfortable rides than its peers.
    • Better braking performance on dry and wet surfaces.

    CONS:

    • Not the best tire for performance on ice and snow and should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions.
    • Brand-conscious buyers might hesitate to buy it.
    • Fuel efficiency could be better.

SimpleTire’s view on Atlas Force HP tires

If you’re searching for an affordable tire that offers dependable traction and grip year-round, then the Atlas Force HP comes as a great offering. It secures an 8.0 out of 10 SimpleScore in traction, which means it offers reliable traction performance in practical conditions, at least on dry and wet surfaces. The tire also has an extended service life and secures an 8.3 SimpleScore in longevity.

The handling performance of the tire is equally admirable, which is also indicated by its 8.4 out of 10 SimpleScore in handling. Atlas offers this tire with a 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, assuring customers absolute peace of mind.

The rides with Force HP tires installed are quieter and comfy, and the braking performance of the tire is also satisfactory on wet and dry surfaces. The only area where it fails to impress is the performance in winter weather conditions. There is a lag in performance in moderate winter weather conditions.

It might not be as great as the Pirellis, Bridgestone, or Continentals, but it indeed is a good performer in various ways. However, those who prefer top-branded tires might not find it very captivating.

The Atlas Force HP competes against the following tires:

Vehicles the Atlas Force HP is a good replacement tire for

Very impressed with this tire, excellent value for the money, wish I would of known about these tires before I would of saved alot of money, always bought the big name brands, these perform just as good if not better, will definitely buy again, haven't ran them in snow yet,but it shouldn't be long now, and I expect that they will do well.

Great tires for the money. Have put on over 5000 miles on them and they look like new. Car handles well with them and there seems to be no road noise.

For the price they can't be beat! These worked far better than the new 'name brand' tires we had on the car previously at 3x the price. The more expensive tires were loud with a lot of road noise and were terrible in the snow. These Atlas HP tires are quiet, smooth and did great in the snow. They put their more expensive competition to shame. We ended up selling the name brand tires online for the same price we paid for the Atlas tires new!

Tires are a brand that my dad sold at his Esso station back in the 1950s (but is now made in Thailand by a different manufacturer). I mounted these using the yellow dot lined up with valve stem (and on same side of rim as valve stem, but the dots go on inside). Atlas uses the same system as Yokohama and it seems that this mounting system is being phased in by Goodyear and some other brands, but I checked a lot of Goodyear tires at local tire dealers and only some had both the red and yellow dots, my daughter's had only the red on her Goodyear Assurance, and most had no dots at all. Anyway, my Atlas tires balanced out with no vibration with no tire weights, which indicates they are more precisely made than most tires. To check out info on the dots, see the Yokohama website. (After questioning employees at tire shops, most of them need some instruction in tire mounting also.) Anyway, basically the red dot is the high spot on tire and should be aligned with low spot on rim if your rim is marked (maybe a dimple or a white dot) or maybe you can determine the low spot on rim yourself (I could not find a low spot on mine). If you cannot determine the low spot on rim, ignore the red dot and align yellow dot as previously mentioned. I would definitely recommend these tires.
